Pride

Ch Briardales Pride De Seuletoile,

Rass Select

OFA excellent, elbows, patellas clear, csnb clear, cerf

bred by David and Debbie Kemp

owned by Mike and Deanna Vick

Pride came to us when he was about 3 1/2 years old, so he was already a finished champion and had been raised properly by Liz.   I had the  pleasure in showing Pride to his Rassemblement Selection in 2004 in Sturbridge, MA.  I cannot begin to tell you just how excited and pleased I was for him.  He's a beautiful dog, a joy to live with and our "good sweet boy" who is always such a gentleman.  That being said, probably the best description of Pride's attitude … this John Travolta in "Grease" – handsome, narcissistic, a little cocky.  He most definitely knows how to do the "Travolta strut" and sometimes you'd swear he has a pack of Camels rolled into the sleeve of his t-shirt.  However, he is not pushy or demanding, except when it comes to tummy rubs, which he wants on a daily basis.  He tries his best to educate our Savannah about respecting her elders but then turns around and totally indulges her – what a nice uncle he is!  I hope to begin herding with Pride this spring.

BISS Ch Briadales Shur Shot of Sendero,

Rass Select

Winner of the 2008 BCA National Specialty

OFA good, CSNB Clear, Cardiac normal, CERF

Bred by MJ  and Tommy Millner

owned by Deanna Vick, Liz Kenitz, MJ Millner

I am lucky enough to co-own Annie with Liz Kenitz and Merry Jeanne Millner (Annie's breeder); two long-time Briard owners/breeders who have been invaluable in helping bring me along in the breed.  Annie originally lived with Liz and when she was six months old, came to live with me and my husband, Mike, due to an unexpected increase of dogs needing to be placed with Liz.

Annie is truly my heart of hearts and words cannot describe what she means to me.  She is my first show dog and showing was truly her forte.  She was one of eleven pups from the only litter of Remington (Sendero's Lil Lead Shot), the most winning grey bitch at that time (succeeded by her daughter, Annie's sister, Derby, (Sendero's Sterling Grey Ghost)).  Annie has always thought that she is indeed the Queen.  She absolutely loved to strut her stuff in the ring and was thoroughly convinced that everyone at the show was there just to see her and only her.

Annie

She finished her championship quickly and I'm very proud to say that I put every point on her towards that championship and we still enjoy attending an occasional show.  I also showed her to her Rassemblement Selection in 2004 at Sturbridge, MA.

She is the mother of my first litter, co bred with Liz and MJ; making me an official breeder (believe me, in name only), Annie was a great mother and still is very tolerant of her exuberant daughter, Savannah.  These days Annie prefers herding to the show ring, and as she was always a tomboy, herding is right up her alley.  Fortunately for me, Annie believes that herding is a "team sport" just like conformation, and only wants me for her partner.

Savannah

Briardales Verandah Breeze,

Rass Select

bred by Liz Kenitz, Deanna Vick and MJ Millner

Savannah is our third Briard. I was present for her birth, it was a thrill I will never forget.  Her Daddy's (Henry) owner Olga was present via the telephone for the whole delivery.

My husband wasn’t too keen on adding a third dog.  It was touch and go for about a week but very quickly she won him over, She is the daughter of my "heart" dog, Annie.

Her mother is my heart dog, Savannah is my soul.  She has a wonderfully charming way about her that is both frustrating and delightful.  She is full of energy, faster than either of the other dogs and smart as a whip.  You might think she would terrorize the sheep when we go herding because of her high energy level but she's very tuned in and reads the flock well, especially for one so inexperienced.

She is also very obedient – or so our obedience instructor tells me.  Of course, she doesn't live with her and have to deal with her when she's displaying all of her antics to get Pride and Annie to play with her.  By the way, my husband refers to her as "my little sweetie"!  He simply adores her and she knows it, gee maybe a fourth could be in our future!
