There are so many wonderful things to say about our girl, Brulee; it’s hard to know where to start …

…  Brulee was shown in Briard Conformation competition on a very limited (and local) basis as a “Special” in 2009 and was honored to finish the year as the #11 Briard (#4 Bitch) (Breed Standings – Canine Chronicle) and as #15 Briard (#5 Bitch) (All Breed Standings – Canine Chronicle).  As impressive as that alone sounds, what is even more impressive is that she was one of only two Briards to achieve Top Breed and All-Breed honors while being owner handled (ie: not handled by a professional)!  The fact that Brulee was owner-handled to this honor speaks volumes to her being recognized as top quality breeding stock (because Brulee’s success was definitely in spite of, not because of, owner (Jackie’s) handling!)!!!  Oh!!   Did I mention that Brulee is only two years old!!!??!!

… Brulee is physically very well put together – including apposite and well-balanced front and rear angulation, an excellent top line, and a beautiful head piece -- all of which we consider to be of utmost phenotypic importance in our breeding program.  Brulee is above average (but by no means LARGE) in size and is solid as a rock as well as very athletic, … yet she retains beautiful femininity.  As far as Brulee’s coat goes, we can’t rave enough about its quality, quantity, and ease of care!  Everywhere we go people are always commenting on how impressed they are by Brulee’s beautiful, long, luxurious coat!

… Brulee’s temperament is fabulous!  She is affectionate and very loyal, but is also sociable with new people and other dogs; however, without doubt, she is all Briard!!  Brulee has never been finicky about eating, has always been the picture of health, and passed her OFA/CHIC health exams with flying colors!!  We feel Brulee brings many superior qualities to the table as a brood bitch and we expect some outstanding (and fun to live with) Briard puppies from this extraordinary girl!!

Jag is an outstanding Briard with what we feel has many exceptional qualities to offer the future of this marvelous breed called Briard! …

…  While Jag has not yet been shown as a “Special”  (with exception of a few times (one of which he finished in the top 5 males at the 2009 BCA National Specialty and was the only one in the top 5 owner handled!)), … we do have plans to begin “specialing” him on a limited basis beginning in August, 2010),  two (of two) puppies shown from his first litter (whelped in December 2008) took 2009 Briard conformation competition by storm!!   BeFree’s Da Best of Da Bears Suite Boy (Ditka) earned his AKC conformation championship at 10 months of age while earning multiple group placements from the classes along the way and finished #14 Briard (All Breed Standings – Canine Chronicle), and littermate, Suite Dame De Pompadour Du BeFree (Marquise) earned her AKC conformation championship (from BBE) at 11 months of age and also earned multiple group placements from the classes and finished #18 Briard (All Breed Standings – Canine Chronicle)!!  In addition to being honored in the Top 20, Marquise also won multiple Best Puppy in Match awards, multiple Bred by Exhibitor Group Placements, and was First Place Bred By Exhibitor Bitch at the 2009 Briard National Specialty!   We are very excited by what these two show puppies from Jag’s first litter have accomplished and are even more excited about the puppy “potential” from this litter … and, of course, ... are we are very excited about Jag’s future as a “Special”!

…  Even though we are Jag’s owners, we feel it is not out of line to say that he is one very eye-catching boy, … if not a downright stunning guy (who will melt your heart!)!  Jag has a beautiful headpiece, a beautiful top line, a beautiful chest, and beautiful front/rear angles and front/rear balance!!   Oh!!  I haven’t mentioned his beautiful coat, which is not only easy to care for, but has wonderful texture, length, and is of striking tawny color!   Size-wise, Jag is definitely above average, but is by no means a “huge” male.  He is a hearty eater (with exception of when in direct company of girls in standing heat!), he has never been sick a day in his life, and he easily passed all of his OFA/CHIC health exams!!

…. And again, though we are Jag’s owners and risk sounding “kennel blind”, we feel his temperament is nothing short of superlative!!!   In our many years as dog owners, we have never had such a biddable and loyal family member, yet, a dog who can easily and willingly adapt to new people and situations!!  Jag’s nickname is “Steve Stills” because he is quite convincing that he “loves the one he’s with” (but we know his heart truly belongs to us!!)   We are very excited about the phenotype and genotype this boy has to contribute to the Briard gene pool!!!

Muenster is a happy, outgoing, sometimes willful, Briard.  Raised with many children, she takes her job as a caregiver very seriously, but is always ready to play with her charges.

Muenster finished her championship easily, handled primarily by her nine year old owner, TJ, with several Best of Breeds over specials.  She moves like a dream, has a pretty outline, and gorgeous pigment with dark, warm eyes.  OFA Excellent, Elbows and Thyroid Normal, and CSNB clear, Muenster has a lot to offer as a brood bitch.

Muenster's mature coat, however, is far from ideal, and lacks the warmth and uniformity in color that I strongly prefer.  As a puppy, she had coat color that made us drool with excitement. The texture of the coat is, however, phenomenal.  While her coat color may not hurt her in the show ring, (the judges are becoming accustomed to seeing it), I do not plan to show Muenster as a champion, or 'Special'.  Her future career lies in the performance rings, primarily in the agility ring.

Muenster's less than ideal coat color is why we bred her to Thunder.  Thunder's pedigree is predominately black and black born grays.  The odds of the two of them throwing a tawny are pretty slim.  Hopefully,  if Muenster and Thunder do produce any tawnies, the puppies genes will draw from the strong tawny way back behind Thunder, as well as the beautiful tawny color of both of Muenster's parents.  Only time will tell.
